The Early Days

Founded in 1974 by Jack D. Smith in Nowata, Oklahoma, JS Machine & Valve began as a valve repair operation after acquiring Empire Valve & Equipment, incorporated in 1978, and expanded into inventory sales. Through the 1980s and 1990s, the company grew its customer base and capabilities, launching a Field Service division in 1994 to provide on-site repair, machining, and technical support. Continued growth—including acquisitions and a 2006 merger that doubled capacity—established JS as a nationwide provider with both shop and mobile field service capabilities. Today, JS delivers full-service valve repair and remanufacturing, combining in-shop and field services such as machining, welding, testing, and reverse engineering to support everything from routine maintenance to complex turnaround and emergency work.
